Nontraditional Valentine's

Hello Everyone,

Valentin's day is around the corner and we at Emerald Creek are celebrating it Non traditional way.
So bring on something unusual..may be different color combination or may be create an art for someone other than your Valentine.

For inspiration post I've used unusual color combination, Red, grey and dark brown

I started with heat embossing with Emerald Creek's "With this heart "stamp and Burnt copper leaves embossing powder. You will find it behind the metal chain.

For texture, I've used Wendy vecchi Embossing paste- white and Crackle paste with Argyle stencil.
When it all dried completely, I applied fired brick distress paint, Hickory smoke, Ground espresso distress stain sprays.

Heart is a metal charm which I colored with Alcohol inks.

Watercolor Art Journal

Hello Everyone,

I would like to share with you a page I've done in my new Watercolor journal, aiming to fill up by the end of this year :)

I bought this A5 size Brustro journal, it is a artist sketch book, 160 GSM. But I wanted to use watercolors, so I primed it with clear gesso. It worked well!!

At  Art Journal journey, Chrissie has chosen theme - Winter wonderland.
We don't get snow fall in Bangalore, I experienced that only once!  Right now, weather is very cold here, too. So it was fun bring all these feelings on journal page.
I've used regular watercolors from pans for the background. Bird is stamp image from Impression Obsession, which I colored with distress inks.

Lets see how far this watercolor journey takes me.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Koi - Mixed Media Canvas

Hello Everyone,

CHA has started ....and of course its a time for new products release.
Emerald Creek has come up with this new Koi stamp set designed by talented Nicole Wright.
I've created mixed media canvas with it.

New fish stamps are awesome!

It all started with bubble texture with Wendy Vecchi white texture paste on 12*10" canvas.

For background I chose red and blue color, for that I spritzed Abandoned coral, Peacock feather and mermaid lagoon distress stain sprays. I heat set the surface with heat tool.

I adhered Tim holtz Rub Ons numbers on the canvas. For interest, I attached shells and die cut star fish. I used Tarnished brass Distress glitter as a sand.

I colored the fish with abandoned coral distress ink. I also created layers with Tim's stripes stencil and Hickory smoke distress ink.

and here is final look of my Koi Canvas

It was fun to play with these new stamps.
There are awesome projects created by my teamies at Emerald Creek
