Mixed Media Black and White card

Hello Everyone,

I made Mixed Media card  with black, white and rose color.

I'll explain the process of making this card.

You will find white circles in the background, I created them with Sakura Modelling paste and Crafters workshop Circle grid template. Next I used Alpine Ice Magicals from Lindy's stamp Gang. I took very little amt of Magicals powder and added water in to that. I created drips on my card, and let color flow to get watercolr background. I made some splatters with the same rose color.

Next, I adhered torn pieces of text paper from Lemon Lush (gorgeous paper pad) at two three places on the card. At the edges I applied little bit of  Dina Wakely gesso. I  love the smoothness it gives as a base for surface. My new favourite Gesso :-)  yes I use tons in my mixed media work.
As you know mixed media is all about layers, I created next layer with stamps and Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink, it is best, works on all surfaces. Lulupu has brought new wonderful textured stamps, you can find them here. I've used Almanac Cling Rubber Stamp,
I created some more texture with Crafters workshop specimen stencil and Black Soot distress ink
And again splatters of rose color...... my background is ready.

Wonderful butterflies are from Penny black Social Butterfly set, aren't they beautiful. I stamped them with ranger black Archival ink, fuzzy cut them and adhered on the card. Sentiment is also from same stamp set. I've used Spellbinder's Tag 3 to cut the banner. I colored it with rose magicals at the edges.

Tutorial - Mixed Media Canvas

Hello Everyone,

I've created mixed media canvas and would like to share with you tutorial for this.

This is 10"*8" canvas.

I applied gesso and dried it completely. Gesso is a primer for colors, it does not allow colors to soak in canvas and shows perfect color of paint.

I stamped texture with Faber castell design memory craft clear stamp and black archival ink.

Next, I cut small amount of  Gelatos (cotton candy, Pistachio and Banana) in my plate, mixed them separately with Gel medium and applied randomly. Which gives this cool background.

I applied gesso on the surface again to set back this background and wanted to add some more layers. I spritzed water and soaked at some places, which added more texture.

In this picture, you will see I applied texture paste with bubble stencil. I colored the bubbles with blood orange Gelato. To give more depth I also used red PIIT pen at the edges.

I wanted to create my own embellishments. I colored paper with chalk board paint, dried it. Punched the flowers and made stitched lines on them with white pen. Aren't they awesome?

I stamped the flowers with Penny black stamp and black archival ink, colored them with Design memory craft Art grip pencils. These pencils are smooth and colors blend easily.
I fussy cut the flowers to attach on canvas.

The center piece of canvas is this lady Madam Dragonfly. I stamped this image with Deep red stamp and Black archival ink, colored her with Design Memory craft Art grip pencils.

And when I put together all,

I hope you liked my canvas and tutorial.

30 Minutes Project

Hello Everyone,
Mou has kept the challenge to complete the project in 30 Mins or less. I took it up and wow, yes I could do it.
Here it is..

I started with 6*8" thick chipboard piece.
I used collage technique, created the background with different design papers and colored papers from my stash, to save the time I adhered them only at the edges. I applied Gelatos in different colors at edges of all pieces of parers, they blend so well in minutes. Also used PIIT pens to highlight them. Made the circles with watered black Gelatos and bottle. And splattered the same with brush.
The Bird stamp is from PaperArtsy.
I finished in 25 mins. I urged to add some more texture but wanted to stick to Mou's challenge and It has come out  fab!! I liked it.

Autumn colors - Mixed Media Canvas

Hello Everyone,
New month and new challenge at Artistic stamper Creative Team blog. We have 'Autumn colors' theme, so go ahead and make anything you like with Autumn colors, but you have to use at least one Rubber stamp in your creation to be eligible for prize draw.
I've created mixed media canvas as an inspiration for Artistic stamper September challenge.

Artistic stamper has beautiful collection of Autumn Leaves stamps designed by Katy Leitch.

To start with, I attached  Tim Holtz tissue wrap paper on my canvas. Applied gesso, and dried it completely. I dabbed Mowed lawn and Mustard seed distress paints randomly, spritzed water and  allowed the color to spread and again heat set it. I created circle texture with stencil and Wendy Vecchi embossing paste.

I colored gauze with distress paints - vintage photo, mowed lawn, barn door. Stamped leaves with Katy Leitch designed leaves stamp set and Ranger Archival inks . Fussy cut them. Cute little bird house is from Prima. I also added small  brown sugar dots.

Birdies are from Artistic stamper - Birds of feather.

Lastly added the sentiment from Leaves size A5 which suits perfectly for the Autumn theme.

Hope you liked my inspiration,
Waiting to see what you come up with your stamps and autumn colors, don't forget to link your creation at Artistic stamper creative team blog
