Vintage Art Journal Cover

Hello Everyone,

Today, I've altered old notebook into Art Journal in which  I can attach new art pages.

To start with, I covered whole book with canvas, and applied gesso. When it dried completely, I added many layers with distress stains and paints and some Glimmer mists.

In this close up photo you can see paper layers as well. I've used text stamped tissue wrap paper in between pattern paper and map.

I stamped the image of Ship with Crafty Individuals stamp on PP with Archival ink. Bird stamp is from Hero arts. I had the gold charm in my stash which I colored more with Tarnished brass distress paint. Wooden button is also painted with same color.

Here is the old book

Be Consistent - Art Journal Page

Hello Everyone,

I've made this mixed media art journal page for Design Memory craft - Take a Challenge with Mou. She wants us to make project that captures the essence of your motto.

My motto this year is to 'be Consistent' it is getting difficult for me to take out time to make projects consistently and share with my blogger friends.
As a symbol of word consistent, I've shown river here..which doesn't stop to flow and created the scene around it.
to begin with I created the texture with texture paste and stencil, here is the close up

I colored the water with Cotton candy and blue berry Gelatos as a water color plus to highlight at some places. To color the greenery, I used Pistachio and Green tea Gelatos. Texture stamping has been done with PIIT pens. I kept it simple, but it is an interpretation of my motto.

Mixed Media Album Cover

Hello Everyone,

Another Mixed media project with torn papers, texture, inks and flowers.

I was amazed and inspired with incredible  DT projects at Beyond Grey Challenges. They have wonderful theme for this fortnight - 'Torn and Flower full.'
I started this album cover with attaching torn pattern papers on the base. I created some texture at the edges with texture paste and Harlequin stencil. Sprayed lindy's ink. After this, I adhered the flowers and other embellishments at the center.
Album has 6 pages inside, which I've made with pattern paper, I'll show them to you some other time.
Let's have look at some of the closeups of the album cover.

Here, we can see the texture and the yellow-red ink splashes. I spritzed the ink and helped it to move around with my brush. Vintage clock is a stamp and diecut, I coloured it with barn door and fired brick distress inks. Mostly flowers are from Prima, flourishes are diecut, colored with mustered seed distress ink.

I've applied distress inks on the edge of torn papers as well.

I filled the gaps with watercolor crayons and stickers, added bird ,butterflies and sentiment..and it came out something like this,

Shadow Box

Hello Everyone,

Today, I've made Shadow box for Itsy Bitsy challenge, where theme is 'say it with Roses.'

I colored the box with Lindy's starbursts. Prima Doll is colored with color pencils. I rolled the papers to create the background in the center. some more close ups..

Banner is chipboard diecut, I love how it fits perfectly at the corner.

Yellow pebbles are from my stash. It was great fun to do something different.

This week, adorable Kay Wallace is host at Stampotique Designers Challenge, as she has suggested, rolled paper can be considered as 'texture' which is the theme.

Monochromatic Fantasy Scene

Hello Everyone,

I know title is bit confusing. I have created this Journal page for my two favorite blogs, who have supported and encouraged me since ever I started making art journals. Sharing this with:
Art Journal Journey- theme of the month is 'fantasy scene'
Stampotique Designers Challenge - theme of the week is - Monochromatic
And here is my take combining two themes...

I created the background with 3 blue shades in distress inks- faded jeans, broken china, salty ocean, spritzed some water to get that dreamy look. Trees stamp is from Impression Obsession, used stazon(Azure) to print the images.
Birds and sentiment are from TH. At this stage I didn't want to add anything else. Loved you?
