" Feathers from Da Vinci"

This one I've created  to share with Mix It Monthly
Cleaver Conny  has given unique theme for this month, and honestly it was a challenge for me. We have to create something inspired by Da Vinci. And have to use these colours,


 

So my inspiration was from Da Vinci's this work,

At Mix it monthly Conny has video for her beautiful creation with this theme. And other ladies have done wonderful job inspired by Da vinci.

"Doing what you love..." - Art Journal Page

Hello Everyone,

 

I've tried new technique here- created the whole background with oil pastels.  Lovely Clare had shown the tutorial here.
Firstly, I adhered die cut swirls and flourishes. Gessoed the page  and applied oil pastels.I used ombre blue. Again with heat gun and pastels created grungy effect. Added stamping with archival ink.Spritzed some shimmer. Finally attached flower heart and quote.

"Birds Banner" - Mixed Media

Hello Everyone,

Karen at Beyond Grey Challenges wants us to make project with colours of Fall. I've created this banner for my daughter's room, with mixed media.

I used packaging material in Kraft colour(it's visible where ever I tore it to create some visual interest). Cut them in banner's shape. Gessoed them and coloured them with distress paints. After that decorated them with stamping! Tied together with metal wire.

"Zinnia" - Art Journal Page

Hello Everyone,

Suzanne had shown this layering technique.Gessoed the page innitially. On that I adhered flower die cuts. Then,I applied light green and turquoise acrylic colour for whole page. When it dried I adhered tissue paper with modge podge. You will be able to see folded paper layer and flowers underneath. On that I applied various shades of yellow, green and turquoise.
Zinnia flowers are stamped with Stazon blue and coloured with watercolour pencils.

I've created Mini tag book to keep the small tags or notes. It is 5 1/2 " * 4", and can accomodate in small handbag. 

I've used three old envelopes for this. We can carry and keep tags or notes.

I love to use Itsy Bitsy's Chipboard die cuts in my Mixed media art journals. I bought these 'gate images' and today they fit perfectly on my page.

As a child I always wanted to be an artist and it didn't happen that time, and I never revealed about it. I used to be in dilemma, whether I should choose the road which was obvious or should I cross my secret gate of 'Art'. And  that's - "A new road or secret gate"  is all about...

"Birds" - Tag

Hello Everyone,

There is new challenge for Tags- Tag Along, by Mandy. And this week's theme is Bird.

I've tried new technique  here. After creating background texture with modeling paste through stencil, I've stamped on it too. You will find some small flowers and text on that. After applying colours on tag, I sand it back to reveal the fine detail of paint trapped in the stamped texture. I have used distress paints- salty ocean, seedless preserves, antique linen and bundled sage. 
Leandra had shown this technique at Paper Artsy.

Firstly, I've named this art journal page as My City because it shows some of the faces of my city- Bangalore, buildings everywhere. Once it was called garden city :) but still I love it... And secondly,I've used only Faber castle gelatos (Blue set) to create this Art journal page. Check out the Blue Moon     (Smurfs effect)

"Peacock" - Art Journal Page

Hello Everyone,

Peacock which I've used here is a chipboard die cut. I created the background with gesso texture and acrylic paints in blue and green colours. Stamped flower bushes and flourishes with hero arts flower stamp and archival black ink. For Sun, I've used Spiced marmalade distress paint.Sentiment is from Tim holtz stampers anonymous collection.
